Lyrically Speaking - 3/2/16

#1 Post by littlebeast13 » Wed Mar 02, 2016 8:47 am

Today's hastily thrown together theme is one you'll have to figure out on your own... and I know you all enjoy doing that (Right TBone?)! And yes, I've used one of these songs in the 2016 LSWE already... the line to sue me starts over there ------->

1 point for the title, 1 point for the artist, 3 points for the theme...

1. I'll be the sun
Shining on you
Hey Cinderella
Step in your shoe
I'll be your non-stop lover
Get it while you can
Your non-stop miracle
I'm your man

2. I have hours, only lonely
My love is vengeance
That's never free

3. The wild and windy night
that the rain washed away
Has left a pool of tears
crying for the day
Why leave me standing here
let me know the way

4. Well, I wake in the morning
Fold my hands and pray for rain
I got a head full of ideas
That are driving me insane

5. You keep looking at me while you dance in another's arms
And you pretend to be so enchanted with all his charms

6. I've seen your picture
Your name in lights above it
This is your big debut
It's like a dream come true

7. When you're weary, feeling small
When tears are in your eyes, I will dry them all (all)
I'm on your side, oh, when times get rough
And friends just can't be found

8. There's a young man in a t-shirt
Listenin' to a rockin' rollin' station
He's got greasy hair, greasy smile
He says, "Lord this must be my destination."

9. You got no money and you got no home
______ all alone
Talkin' 'bout your troubles and you never learn

10. I've seen the future, I can't afford it
Tell me the truth sir, someone just bought it
Say Mr. whispers! Here come the click of dice
Roulette and blackjacks - gonna build us a paradise

11. She said I'm sorry baby I'm leaving you tonight
I found someone new he's waitin' in the car outside
Ah honey how could you do it
We swore each other everlasting love

12. I don't wanna live here no more,
I don't wanna stay
Ain't gonna spend the rest of my life,
Quietly fading away

By George, I think I've got it! #12 references playing games. We have a spinning wheel, pink and blue, peg, car, money, (poor?) farm, winding road, bridge...I do believe we are playing The Game of Life! One of my favorites as a kid. Hell, I've even got the video game version for the Wii.

Theme? - The Game of Life! The spoiler space wording would've been a huge hit if you were familiar with the classic Art Linkletter edition (Before he became a paid con man)...

Image Bonus: If you know the theme then show me a relevant picture! - Had Esto posted that lame MLP version first, I might've gone with him again... but while coming up with this game, I searched in vain for a high resolution version of the game board to come up with song ideas. Elwood didn't have any problem at all, so he gets the IBB...

Haven't you already established that order doesn't matter for IBB pics?

I think there's only one time I awarded the IBB based on a secondary image in a montage, and that was a homerun I couldn't pass up. That didn't apply here...
