Lyrically Speaking - 3/1/16

#1 Post by Ody » Tue Mar 01, 2016 8:41 am

If you haven't noticed by the complete lack of quality, my stupid "owner" LB has just been making up these LSWE games each morning for the past few weeks. It's a bit windy outside today, and since they always say March comes in like a lion... guess what today's impromptu theme is. Yeah, lions. That's why I'm hosting, because I'm a cat, get it? Yeah, it's all pretty pathetic... you don't have to put up with LB's shittiness every day like I do. Oh well, please play the game, or I might not get fed....... again......

1 point for the title, 1 point for the artist...

1. The first time that I got it
I was just ten years old
I got it from some kitty next door
I went and see the doctor
And he gave me the cure
I think I got it some more

2. Some say eat or be eaten
Some say live and let live
But all are agreed as they join the stampede
You should never take more than you give

3. Just say a word and the boys will be right there:
with claws at your back to send a chill through the night air.

4. Cause you were born into this evil world
Where man is killing man and no one knows just why
What have we become just look what we have done
All that we destroyed you must build again

5. One man caught on a barbed wire fence
One man he resist
One man washed on an empty beach.
One man betrayed with a kiss

6. I hear the drums echoing tonight
But she hears only whispers of some quiet conversation
She's coming in 12:30 flight
The moonlit wings reflect the stars that guide me towards salvation

7. I guess that I forgot I had a choice
I let you push me past the breaking point
I stood for nothing, so I fell for everything

8. I did a two step quickstep
And a bossa nova
A little Victor Sylvester
And a Rudy Valentino
You should have seen me
Moving right across the floor

9. Getting late, I just can't wait
Ten o'clock and I know I gotta hit the road
First I drink, then I smoke
Start up the car and I try to make the midnight show

10. I refuse to give in to my blues
That's not how it's going to be
And I deny the tears in my eyes
I don't want to let you see

11. He was only ten years old when his daddy died in prison;
I looked after Tommy, 'cause he was my brother's son.
I still recall the final words my brother said to Tommy,
"Son my life is over, but yours has just begun"

12. In the jungle, the mighty jungle.....

Kroxquo Bonus: Name another song with artist that fits today's lion theme.

Image Bonus: I wanna see something leonine.

Ody
If you haven't noticed by the complete lack of quality, my stupid "owner" LB has just been making up these LSWE games each morning for the past few weeks. It's a bit windy outside today, and since they always say March comes in like a lion... guess what today's impromptu theme is. Yeah, lions. That's why I'm hosting, because I'm a cat, get it? Yeah, it's all pretty pathetic... you don't have to put up with LB's shittiness every day like I do. Oh well, please play the game, or I might not get fed....... again......

1 point for the title, 1 point for the artist...

One man he resist
One man washed on an empty beach.

I let you push me past the breaking point
I stood for nothing, so I fell for everything

Lizbit and I were so excited to discover that we predicted (nearly) the theme for the game a day early! If we get good at this, we might open a little nostradamus store, where we foretell the future but don't put an exact date one it, so our clients can decide whether it's the prediction for today or tomorrow or 127 years from now. We've got some details to work out, but if anybody wants to hire us, just let us know. Or maybe we'll let you know first!

Okay, here is today's game play. Our prediction for today is that we will get at least one song title correct. :)

Kroxquo Bonus: Name another song with artist that fits today's lion theme. - I thought I'd exhausted about every lion angle I could find in this game, but a few of you proved me wrong! Props to frank (Zoo), TBone (Safari) and Search (Maneater) especially!

Image Bonus: I wanna see something leonine. - How ironic that it wasn't a lion but another animal near and dear to my heart that decided the IBB for this game. Frank gets the five points for one of King Leonardo's short subjects being a laundry washing skunk! (I assume anyway... that's even more dubious than my skunks)

Sorry, but I can't accept that. You'll notice that I didn't have a clue about the artist, but I have heard of the illness.

Or the infection. The saying. Whatever.
