Lyrically Speaking - 2/26/16

#1 Post by littlebeast13 » Fri Feb 26, 2016 6:21 am

I'm going to admit up front that the theme for this weekend's game is filled out kinda sketchy, but it's an idea I've been tossing around for a long time hoping to work into an LSWE game... and I just decided I was going to force it to work. As usual, this game could end up anywhere between a total disaster and something that almost everyone gets. I'm hoping for more towards the latter, but we'll see. If you do figure out the theme, the Krox is just asking for a song based on the theme's general concept, not the specific element of that concept that the songs outline (Same goes for the Image Bonus). Have I confused you enough yet? Good, have fun, and here's a dime...

1 point for the title, 1 point for the artist, 3 points for the theme...

1. I'm not tryin' to be your hero
'Cause that zero is too cold for me, Brrr
I'm not tryin' to be your highness
'Cause that minus is too low to see, yeah

2. If I were to say to you
"Can you keep a secret?"
Would you know just what to do
Or where to keep it?

3. I'd be your lover, if you were there
Put your hurt on me, if you dare
Such a woman, you got style
You make every man feel like a child

4. A man in my shoes runs a light
And all the papers lied tonight
But falling over you
Is the news of the day

5. He needed love
He needed love
Love he couldn't get from ____
He wanted sweet, sweet love

6. There's no need for argument
There's no argument at all
And if you never hear from him
That just means he didn't call

7. Over and over
My friends say I´m a fool
But over and over
I´ll be a fool for you

8. Fat man sitting on a little stool
Takes the money from my hand while his eyes take a walk all over you
Hands me the ticket smiles and whispers good luck

9. You... you shattered my resistance, yes its true,
you battered my defenses what could I do?
I`m running from the heat between me and you.

10. So if you find yourself in need
Why dontcha listen to these words of heed
Be a giant, or grain of sand
Words of wisdom - "Yes, I can"

11. She's living in L. A. with my best old ex-friend Ray,
A guy she said she knew well and sometimes hated.

12. Then He rolled his big sleeves up
And a brand-new world began
He created a woman and-a lots of lovin' for a man
Whoa-oh-oh, yes he did

Theme? Not much to work with for me unfortunately. It does seem strange that ABC immediately proceeds Def. And with ABC linked to number two and Def linked to number three, it almost looks like you are going for a theme where the letters are arranged like on a phone. Not sure how you could keep that going, but well done if you did.

Kroxquo Bonus: Name a song with artist that has to do with the theme in general of this game.

This wouldn't exactly fit with the letters on a phone, but it does keep the alphabet in order: "Sorry 2004" - Ruben Studdard

Okay. My sis and I have talked about these lyrics all weekend, and we're still a little bit a lot puzzled. We decided to go for a long shot. We have agreed on a theme, and we're going to make the titles fit. There's no penalty for wrong answers, is there?

A Hundred Pounds of Clay - Gene McDaniel (#)

Theme? - The buttons on a standard telephone keypad! I'd warned you that there were a lot of stretches here... but as Search proved, if you could get the right songs, the theme was actually very gettable... especially if you noted the matching numbers (ABC and DEF as songs 2 and 3 rather than 1 and 2)

Image Bonus: If you could figure this mess out, show me a relevant picture to prove it. - Only three people got the theme AND submitted an image... so there wasn't much to pick from. Esto's airheads at the ballpark win the IBB...
