Lyrically Speaking - 2/17/16

#1 Post by Biskit » Wed Feb 17, 2016 8:48 am

So LB comes home this from work this morning, and after once again forgetting to feed either me or that barrage balloon of a brother of mine, he tells me I should host today's LSWE game. I'm just so excited about this... can't you tell from my avatar. The theme of this 13th game of the 2016 LSWE is superstition, which is nice. It shows that all I am to LB is just another negative black cat stereotype. I'm sure I'll come up with some clever way to get him back for this if I can ever be bothered to come out from under the bed. Damn, this hosting gig is so boring...

1 point for the title, 1 point for the artist...

1. Yeah, my my, such a sweet thing
I wanna do everything
What a beautiful feeling

2. She comes out of the sun in a silk dress running
Like a watercolour in the rain
Don't bother asking for explanations
She'll just tell you that she came...

3. I've been a victim of a selfish kind of love
It's time that I realize
That there are some with no home, not a nickel to loan
Could it be really me, pretending that they're not alone?

4. dressed up to the eyes
it's a wonderful surprise
to see your shoes and your spirits rise
throwing out your frown
and just smiling at the sound
and as sleek as a shriek
spinning round and round

5. I don't want to lose you, this good thing
that I got 'cause if I do
I will surely,
surely lose a lot.

6. Honey you came along and captured my heart
Now my love is somewhere lost in your kiss
When I'm all alone it's you that I miss
Girl a love like yours is hard to resist

7. There are stars in the southern sky
Southward as you go.
There is moonlight and moss in the trees

8. Coming over the airwaves
The man says I'm overdue
Sing along, send some money
Join the chosen few

9. Feeling neglected
Used and rejected
You need a shoulder to lean upon
Maybe you've picked him
Found your next victim
Don't worry someone will come along

10. I hear your name whispered on the wind
It's a sound that makes me cry
I hear a song blow again and again
Through my mind and I don't know why
I wish I didn't feel so strong about you
Like happiness and love revolve around you

11. I said it again
Could I please rephrase it
Maybe I can catch a ride
I couldn't really put it much plainer
But I'll wait till you decide

12. Should have taken warning
It was just people mourning
Running, hiding, lost
Couldn`t find, find a place to go

Like a watercolour in the rain
Don't bother asking for explanations
She'll just tell you that she came...

3. I've been a victim of a selfish kind of love
It's time that I realize
That there are some with no home, not a nickel to loan
Could it be really me, pretending that they're not alone?

4. dressed up to the eyes
it's a wonderful surprise
to see your shoes and your spirits rise
throwing out your frown
and just smiling at the sound
and as sleek as a shriek
spinning round and round

5. I don't want to lose you, this good thing
that I got 'cause if I do
I will surely,
surely lose a lot.

6. Honey you came along and captured my heart
Now my love is somewhere lost in your kiss
When I'm all alone it's you that I miss
Girl a love like yours is hard to resist

7. There are stars in the southern sky
Southward as you go.
There is moonlight and moss in the trees

"Seven Bridges Road" - The Eagles

8. Coming over the airwaves
The man says I'm overdue
Sing along, send some money
Join the chosen few

9. Feeling neglected
Used and rejected
You need a shoulder to lean upon
Maybe you've picked him
Found your next victim
Don't worry someone will come along

"Salt In My Tears' - Martin Briley

10. I hear your name whispered on the wind
It's a sound that makes me cry
I hear a song blow again and again
Through my mind and I don't know why
I wish I didn't feel so strong about you
Like happiness and love revolve around you

11. I said it again
Could I please rephrase it
Maybe I can catch a ride
I couldn't really put it much plainer
But I'll wait till you decide

12. Should have taken warning
It was just people mourning
Running, hiding, lost
Couldn`t find, find a place to go

1 point for the title, 1 point for the artist...
Lizbit says I get all the easy days. So much for that. Our score for song identification today is zee-roh. To ten decimals, that's 0.0000000000. Lizbit is lucky I just growl at her and don't add any teeth for punctuation.

I picked this picture because I like to support animal-owned businesses. This one even has a pub (I think that's like a bar) that is dog-friendly! I've never had any beer, but I will try it if I ever get the chance. Also, the picture looks very much like our next-door dog, Jett. He's very handsome, and he's even bigger than me. I like being tall, but sometimes it's nice to feel petite and girly-girl (squirrely-squirrel), too.

That's pretty good, all right. Nevertheless, Vandal's kick-butt image will still win.

But what makes it so good is the use of my avatar's now trademarked term. We'll sue!
