Hard apple cider

#1 Post by Ritterskoop » Fri Feb 12, 2016 8:45 pm

I found one yesterday that is not malted - Crispin.

Is this likely to be true for most of them? I remember being excited when Mike's Hard Lemonade came out, but then found it was malted, which I hate.

Even tastier was the Crispin Pear Cider.

I prefer cider to beer, but I can't ever recall having one that was made with malt. You're talking grain malt, right?

Try any of the major cider brands I know: Woodchuck, Angry Orchard, or McKenzie's from the US, or Strongbow from the UK.

(Personally, I liked the original Strongbow variety, but a couple of years ago they started marketing new flavors for the US market that I've never taken to. It's like a Classic Coke/New Coke thing.)

My new favorite when I'm not drinking beer or wine is run and water with MiO Apple added.

I like Angry Orchard the best and I like their Pear even better than their Apple. try that for a change.

Angry Orchard gets points for a great name, too. I will try them next.

That sounds delicious...
