Fire Up the Toaster -- Political Version
Bobby Jindal has thrown in the towel and suspended his Presidential campaign. He had not made the main stage at any of the Republican debates, and his departure reduces the field to 14. According to Real Clear Politics polling average, he came in 0.3% in the most recent compilation. Ironically, he was doing best in Iowa, where a couple of recent polls had him in the 4-6% range, but his support was virtually non-existent in many other states.

As I mentioned in an earlier post -- what the @#@#( is Gilmore doing? I don't hear of him campaigning anywhere, or even fundraising.Pastor Fireball wrote:Get ready to feel the Gilmore-mentum!
(This isn't just my observation; this is also from the local Clear Channel talk/news radio station.)
I mean, if you're going to run for President, then do something to actually run for President. I don't know if it's an ego thing, or if he's waiting for a campaign sugar daddy (re: PAC with a wealthy donor), but it's like he wants to be President without doing anything to get there.

This time, Lindsey Graham has called it quits. In a poll over the weekend, Graham only received 2% of the vote in the South Carolina primary and had been registering at 1% or less in most national polls. This brings the Republican major candidate total down to 13.

That's when the definition of 'compromise' is doing everything the democrats want. That's what Lindsay's all about. Maybe he could do better in the democrat primaries.silverscreenselect wrote:This time, Lindsey Graham has called it quits. I understand the timing was crucial. It was the last day (or almost the last day) he could have his name withdrawn from the state primary ballot. It would have been most embarrassing for a native son to do so poorly in his own state.

Re: Fire Up the Toaster -- Political Version
Mike Huckabee has become the sixth Republican to drop out of the Presidential race following his ninth place showing in the Iowa caucuses with 2% of the vote last night. He finished ninth in last night's Iowa caucus, with only 2% of the vote. The move at this point was somewhat unexpected. This reduces the Republican field to 11.

Re: Fire Up the Toaster -- Political Version
Martin O'Malley has dropped out of the Democratic presidential race, meaning that future debates will be one-on-one between Hillary and Bernie. O'Malley did extremely poorly in the Iowa caucuses, in part because of the rules which locked him out in many precincts because he didn't meet the threshold standard of viability.

Anyone wanna set the over/under to when the rest will?
Personally, I think only Cruz, Trump, Rubio, and even Carson have a reason to still be in the race.
