I guess you can't change your J! test day

#1 Post by ghostjmf » Thu Jan 21, 2016 3:36 pm

I had signed up for the 9:00pm on the 27th because something I do on 4th Tuesdays would conflict with 26th test. Turns out my thing is moved to Monday this week, & I just tried to reregister for the test on 26th. Even though I clicked 26th this time the site wouldn't let me go through with it. Says "already registered". Darn.

If anyone knows how to get around this, please let me know.

Now I will have to get to that computer lab that may or may not let me in on the 27th. I am not going to attempt this test on my tablet.

Good luck on your test.

You can change it by logging into your "J Profile". Then once you do, click on your username on the top left corner to take you to the dashboard. Click the "Online tests" tab. You'll then see an edit button. Click it and it'll allow you to change the date and audition city.

ten96lt:

Thanks. It worked. How did you know to do the "click on your name" part, if I may ask?

Experience from some sites where I had to do the same thing to find the "my profile" link led me to try that while playing around with the site. Basically an educated guess when I wanted to see if I could change the day myself (I was going to take it Tuesday, but have a commitment that interferes; so had to change it to Thursday since I have class at night on Wednesdays).

Well, that's unfortunate. I was able to log in today and take a couple practice tests, but before the test, I was logged off due to inactivity (presumably), and now I can't log in. It won't recognize my username/password combo, even though I know both are right.

I was scheduled to take it today at 5:00pm (two minutes ago), so I guess I'm out of luck?

That's exactly what happenned with me.

Doesn't recognize my password.

When I desperately tried to create new "profile", it told me my e-mail address was already in use.

Last time wasn't sure of my password it gave me a "change password" option. This time that option is not coming up.

I wonder if anyone else is screwed.

Also, e-mail I got a few days ago told me a link to test would appear on Jeopardy.com.

I didn't see any link.

oops now I see that link; on this computer its a blue that's almost identical to background color.

I should be taking test right now, dammit.

And my attempts to reset password, which I know was a valid password because I used it to make sure practise test worked from this computer, gets "invalid reset code" as a response.

Looking at the Jeopardy facebook page, it looks like many people are having the same problem. Could well be that a make-up will be in store. Let's hope anyway.

If there's a makeup, I'd love to know when. To take test tomorrow or Thurs, I have to be at a computer lab I sometimes can't get into. Whereas library here is open 'til 9:00pm, but I had to log on earlier to be sure computer would actually run at least the practise test. Some times individual computers here are missing needed software. You just have to check on the one you get.

You no longer get the "edit" button when clicking on your name. Sigh. I get "incomplete" next to today's date.
