NFL Playoffs

#1 Post by Vandal » Tue Jan 19, 2016 11:09 am

For the first time since 2004, the top two seeds in each conference has advanced to the championship games.

(2) New England Patriots (13-4) at (1) Denver Broncos (13-4) - 3:05 p.m. ET, CBS

(2) Arizona Cardinals (14-3) at (1) Carolina Panthers (16-1) - 6:40 p.m. ET, FOX

Currently, New England and Carolina are 3-point favorites.

Not that I know what I'm talking about (or really care about football besides knowing to go "go Patriots" around here) but while the oxygen levels in the blood would be higher here at sea level than in Denver (except for Tibetans, Nepalese & Han Chinese who got that "altitude gene" from the Denisovans, the Asian equivalent of Neanderthals, say paleogeneticists; there aren't any descendants ofTibetans, Nepalese or Han Chinese on either team, are there?) The temperature is likely to be more conducive to playing football in Denver than Boston, if what's going on keeps up. Brrr.

Hey! And he's on the Patriots! (I had to look him up. I don't have to look up Brady, Gronkowski, Edelman; that's about it. If any of them even sneeze, it makes the top of the local news for about 10 minutes.)

Has anyone tested Mr. Chung's oxygen capacity?

He could be our secret weapon!

Go, Patriots!

Denver News 9 just showed a brief "We are Broncos!" segment featuring out of state fans. Announcer said they got hundreds of photos but showed only about a dozen. Absolute best was a darling little boy in an orange wig and wearing #18 signaling Touchdown!! I tried to find it on the 9 News page but no such luck.

There are a boatload of Colts fans rooting hard for the Broncos this year. Peytonphilia still runs deep around here.

At the end of the slideshow, there are several other "We are Broncos!" slideshows offered. I looked through a few of them and found only 2 images where kids had orange wigs:

WooHoo Broncos!!!

My AZ brother says it will be Broncos/Panthers in the Super Bowl. I was hoping for a Four Corners Bowl, but it looks like no such luck.

Looks like a pretty safe bet at this point. --Bob

In the Broncos-Pats game each team scored two touchdowns and two field goals. The difference was the extra point the Pats missed early in the game. The new rule that made the extra point attempt longer made a difference.

Had the Patriots won, their fans would be more insufferable than ever.

Oh well, only 25 days until pitchers and catchers report.

Agreed. It's time. He's got a huge number of records that will stand for a while. Nothing left to prove and money is not an issue. Toss in age and recent health stuff and I would be just amazed if Peyton tried for another season. As I am typing this just 9.5 miles from Neyland stadium, we've been following his career for a long, long time.

Mrs. Jaybee (who knows a LOT more about football than I) says that he will move into coaching - either college or pros. I'm thinking coaching and/or team ownership somewhere. As long as he stays in the spotlight somewhere his huge endorsement list will continue.
