Pat Harrington Jr.: Film and TV Actor Dies at Age 86, His Daughter Says

Harrington Jr., who played Schneider on the television sitcom "One Day at a Time," died two months after his daughter Announced he had Alzheimer's disease and that his health was worsening.

Not surprising, but still sad. First Bonnie, now Pat.

Pat also did a lot of voiceover work in the early days of Filmation, doing some of the superheroes (Aqualad, The Atom) and the youthful sidekick Alec McEwan in their version of Journey to the Center of the Earth.

We saw him once in Atlanta as Captain Andy in a touring production of Show Boat.

Schneider was great, you could always depend on him for a laugh. Harrington was a great talent, I'm glad he stayed so busy for so long.

Netflix has announced that it will produce a new version of One Day at a Time with a Hispanic cast headed by Rita Moreno. Norman Lear is one of the producers. Thirteen episodes have been ordered.
