I know it's a little early but I wanted to be the first to wish everyone a happy 2016!

Bob, we go through this every year. What it says on your computer is not "official bored time." It's what you have selected for your settings and nothing more.

If it somehow makes you feel better or more important to believe that your time zone rules the Bored, if not the world, then I hope that will be sufficient to give you a happy New Year. I wish you -- and everyone -- the best for 2016, no matter what your personal clock may say.

It's not that it's my personal clock. It's that this was the time zone for the original version of the Bored. It remains the time zone that lb would use if he were asked how many posts were made in 2015, or which post was the first post of 2016 (or any other year, for that matter). As lb has said, Pacific Time always has been, and always will be, official Bored time. --Bob

My neighbors must officially have been on some time zone in the middle of the Atlantic Ocean, because they started shooting off their guns about 9:00 instead of waiting until nearly midnight as they've done in past years. I think they used enough ammunition over the next five hours or so to help every gun shop in Georgia show a profit.

Anyway, Happy New Year, everybody!!

Ah, we're starting off the year with an argument about who gets to declare what "official".

Happy New Year, everyone!

This is true. If I still kept track of such things, Pacific would still be the official Bored time...

Thanks for straightening me out, lb.

Bob###s, you have my apologies.

Interesting that the headline refers to them as "Responsible Gun Owners," yet no one in the story was quoted as referring to them in that way. I think most anyone would agree that that label does not apply.
