OUCH for Florida State

#1 Post by SpacemanSpiff » Thu Dec 31, 2015 12:12 pm

Florida State is in the Peach Bowl with one QB that started this season (but who isn't now) not with the team for reasons unknown - Everett Golson, one-time Notre Dame QB (played in the BCSNCG against Bama), was suspended, came back to ND, then left and went to FSU. (There are several stories why he left, but I'm not sure which one is the correct one. Enough to say he's not there.)

So, early in the game, FSU starter Sean Maguire has been injured early in the game, and the replacement QB is getting the snot beaten out of him. Besides not having much game experience, he's been whomped on enough that by all rights he should have come out to be looked at for his own injury, but didn't dare to because there's nobody else.

At this point, Maguire has returned to the sideline, albeit with a heavily taped ankle. At least Maguire left with a football-related injury, instead of getting into a bar fight -- with a cop.

At least they're making a comeback with the gimpy QB. But I saw this blurb on the scroll:
Sean Maguire passed to Jesus Wilson down the middle for 14 yard touchdown (Roberto Aguayo made PAT)
With that name and skill set, Mr. Wilson should have played at Notre Dame. :P
