Justin Peters
Lake Bluff, IL
Second Chance Week - Won $25K the first time around after gambling away $225K
50/50 and ATA remain
$100K :
While each is featured on at least 500 stations, which of these does the 2015 World Almanac NOT list as one of the top four radio formats in the U.S.?
A: Country B: Top 40
C: News/Talk D: Sports
50/50
B: Top 40
D: Sports
Contestant guessed D but it was B and he left with the guaranteed $50K he won yesterday.

I got this one based on the local radio scene - a lot of news/talk, country and sports, only 1 or 2 Top 40. Justin decided not to use his ATA but "hold it in reserve".

I figured News/Talk and Sports pretty much have the whole AM dial all to themselves (plus they are often interchangeable.) One would think Top 40 would have to be ubiquitous, but if you stop and think about it, it's usually a couple of stations vying for the whole market. In Seattle, I'm pretty sure there's one country station for every Top 40 station, and I imagine the Midwest is relatively Top 40 light. It's just crazy enough to be right.
I'm very happy that Justin got a chance to leave the game eloquently this time. You know he wanted to say something profound when he lost the first time, but he was so stunned, and Terry wasn't exactly letting him in, that all he could spit out was "You know what...you know what..." This time we got from him, "I have no regrets; that's a lot of money," and "The pleasure was all mine." Justin's a classy guy.

This would have been very difficult for me. In our market (the surrounding 50 miles), there are three Top 40 stations, three Country-Western, one NPR, one Christian Contemporary, one classical, one sports, and one Golden Oldies.
I have ATA and Plus One left, and I would have used them both starting with ATA.
WWOQ, IMHO. Every market is different.
