I got to watch this one -- very enjoyable, no yelling at the television, nothing like that.

I think it's First Ascents, but as always, I could be wrong.

They knew this instantly! Unless something got edited out. I'll go with ATA and pretend they know it.

Let's see -- Artichokes are low in calories, until you start drenching them in butter. Let's say 100 per artichoke, that's 1,000. Pineapples, I'm guessing about 400 per, so that's 12,000. Cucumbers, very low in calories, I'll guess 30 each, so that's 1,800. Avocados, very high in calories, I'll guess 400, so that's 48,000. Ack! Is 1,800 close enough to overrule artichokes? Plus One.

Cruel thought #1: They're together, but they can't agree on the same charity?

Cruel thought #2: Of all the school districts in the country that could use charitable contributions, is Vail among them?

ATA. Torn between C and D. (I'm amazed that 50:50 left Jennifer Lawrence up there. That's definitely a charity-special move.)

278 calories for one artichoke is way too much (that's halfway to a Big Mac). 90 calories isn't enough for a pineapple considering how big they are. 22-ish calories for an avocado is not enough either. About 45 calories for a cucumber sounds good to me. I'd go for it.

Checking my work:
Artichoke: 60 calories
Pineapple: 452 calories
Cucumber: 47 calories
Avocado: 234 calories

I'd ATA first (turns out that the 50:50 would have been better).

If I still have the 50:50 I'll use it. None of those that I would choose for my +1 would know this, but I'd call him or her down anyway.

I think that's a good idea, to pick two charities -- publicize them both, and spread those resources around a little. Not that it will ever happen, but in a similar situation, I would pick Southwest Colorado Red Cross, and SteelersFan would pick National Wild Turkey Federation.

It wasn't Vail School District, it was Eagle County, comprising not only Vail, but also:
Town of Avon
Town of Eagle
Town of Gypsum
Town of Minturn
Town of Red Cliff
Those places do not enjoy the spectacular revenue of Vail's high-rent district. Many of the residents provide support for the ski area or summer tourism in mostly near minimum-wage jobs. Very few school districts in Colorado -- maybe Boulder and Cherry Creek -- couldn't use some extra funding for budgets that have taken huge hits since the downturn in the economy and are only just now recovering.
