Back from the funeral and luncheon. Very nice eulogies by my BIL and his brother. Their mom, at age 94, had been in control all her life. Her health took a serious turn, and she essentially decided that it was time to go. Told one of the nurses who was trying to coax her to eat, "I'm the boss." We should all be so lucky to have that awareness and ability to choose.
The next family get-together will be when we meet visiting our newest arrival, my niece's daughter who will be born on April 7th. Yes, it's scheduled; due to some medical issues, the docs won't let it go any longer than that. Next after that, or so we hope, the family will gather for BD's wedding. Anything between those is not likely to be a happy occasion, so we're hoping that we WON'T meet up again before August 10th.
I had forgotten how laid back this rabbi was. Great speaking voice, very nice manner, and likely to "go with the flow", as it were. We think he'll go along with most anything the kids want for the ceremony, should we require his services. We didn't think it appropriate to bring up the wedding today, but FSIL has three weeks (deadline imposed by GW) to come up with an officiant. It's getting a bit late in the game.
