I'd have blown it on this one. I glanced right over the word "antibiotics", and I remembered during the whole Ebola debacle last year, the point was made that if you catch Ebola in America, your chances of survival were actually just fine. One of the others reportedly has eye problems, related to live ebola virus still housed in his eyes. Reportedly it doesn't get out so he's not contagious. That's what they're currently saying, anyway.


For the people treated here who did survive, we threw everything we had at them, including experimental stuff that you wouldn't give patients who weren't otherwise going to die.

Exactly. Perhaps it doesn't equate to "very treatable", but there are orders of magnitude of difference between the US and Africa, mainly because we had the resources.
