Because of the ridiculous scheduling, I've only seen Monday's episode. Chris Harrison's intro was frightening: "No more jumping questions; no more easy answers." And no guaranteed minimum payout, so we'll see some true llamas again. I hope they recruited a bunch of smart contestants so there won't be too many llamas.

Chris is a lot more laid back than Terry. He lit up when the contestant brought up his girlfriend as his +1. Chris remarked that they made a cute couple (true). He felt at home chatting with them.

Chris said "Who Wants to Be a Millionaire" more times than Terry did in all of Season 13. That should please Marley.

Yes, it pleases me immensely. Even if Chris appeared somewhat bland in the first two days' shows, bland is infinitely superior to a contestant who thinks he's doing a touchdown dance whenever he walks on set, and otherwise acts like he's auditioning for the Chippendales.

In the shows I saw this was def. not the case.. the first 1-2 questions were pretty easy but they def. got harder going up to 5,000. I saw only one contestant get to 50k. Most bailed out around 6 questions or so.. Some tapings had three contestants as people were going out early... I think its a harder game now.

Sad about the theme weeks.. that will def. be less chances for those of us in the pool.

I only get single runs, but three days in and this is playing out as I expected so far...but not enough of a sample size and considering Tony's run was up to $500k that skews the small pool of results.

Also not enough to know if the show is any easier or more difficult, but two runs to the old "level 2" and I would've only used ATA on one of those 20 questions. However, the level 2 questions at this point appear to be more difficult, but again, not enough of a sample to judge.

Time will tell...

They've gotten rid of some of the softballs, but they've also boosted the guaranteed payments at the safe havens nicely, to $5,000 and $50,000. Particularly for someone who makes it into the third tier, that can change the odds considerably for someone considering a gamble. At the $100,000 level, they're only risking $50,000 instead of $75,000 to win an extra $150,000. That's a 3:1 reward/risk, instead of 2:1.

I'm still encouraged by this new season, although I'd like some evidence that I might get a shot on the show without being Ken Jennings' +1, first.

I wish I had gotten Tony's stack; I'd have three lifelines for the $1,000,000 question. :(
