Steven SpielBored Presents...Boredloose

#1 Post by Steven Spielbored » Tue Sep 15, 2015 11:12 am

Scene: Meet Marley McCormack…

Image

…a young man from “somewhere else” who joins a small community known as The Bored.

Image

Marley mixes in with the Bored locals…

Image

Image

Image

..and meets up with BB named Sprots…

Image

…who just happens to be the daughter of BiT, the heavy-handed Bored moderator who outlawed all Bored games years ago.

Image

Scene: Marley and Sprots share a moment as Sprots explains the situation to him

Image

Marley: I don’t get it, Sprots. What is it about this Bored? Why is everyone so uptight? What we need is a Bored game or two.

Image

Sprots: That can’t happen. The moderators would never allow it. Especially my father, the Bored Administrator.

Image

Marley: What happened?

Sprots: A few years back one of the locals posted a Tangredi-type puzzle. It was pinned for several months without being solved.
BBs got bored, turned it into an attack on the original poster and things got out of hand quickly.

Marley: Wow. I had no idea.

Sprots: It gets worse. One of the BBs went so far as to post an image of Hitler. That’s all it took.
My dad pulled it and banned all Bored games on the spot.

Image

Marley: What kind of Bored have I joined?

Image

Scene: Marley meets and befriends, TBone, a local kid who has never played a Bored game.
They start with Lyrically Speaking

Image

Marley: Now you’re getting it. Let the lyrics be your guide.

Image

TBone: I like this Lyrically Speaking game. What else can we do?

Image

Marley: There are movie games, some crazy thing called TEN!, Dead or Alive? And even Friday Night Gender
Defender once upon a time.

TBone: Sounds great. Too bad we’ll never be able to play them.

Image

Marley: Not if I can help it.

Scene: Marley goes before the Bored tribunal to get them to change their no games policy.

Image

Marley: From the oldest of times, people played Bored games for a number of reasons. They played for fun...
or so that their crops would be plentiful... or so their hunt would be good. And they played to stay physically fit...
and show their Bored spirit. And they played Bored games to celebrate. And that is the playing we're talking about.
Aren't we told in Psalm 149 "Praise ye the Lord. Play unto the Lord a new game. Let them praise His name while
playing the game"? And it was King David - King David, who we read about in Samuel - and what did David do?
What did David do?

[paging frantically through Bible]

Marley: What *did* David do?

Marley : "David played before the Lord with all his might... posting and playing before the Lord."

[smacks table in front of Administrator BiT]

Image

Marley: *Posting* and *playing*.

[stands up straight]

Image

Marley: Ecclesiastes assures us... that there is a time for every purpose under heaven. A time to laugh... and a time to weep.
A time to mourn... and there is a time to play Bored games. And there was a time for this law, but not anymore.
See, this is our time to play. It is our way of celebrating life. It's the way it was in the beginning. It's the way it's always been.
It's the way it should be now.

Scene: After rejecting Marley’s request to have games on The Bored, BiT witnesses local BBs burning Lyrically Speaking notes
and other game printouts from the past

Image

BiT: What is going on here? This is not the way we do things on The Bored. We discuss these things.

Bob#s: But you just banned a guy earlier in the week without consulting anyone.

Image

BiT: True, but he was a dick! I ask you to please stop. I don’t like what this Bored has turned into.

Scene: Marley gets some good news from a local BB

Image

Jarnon: Just thought you’d like to know there’s an abandoned FNGD forum that the admins can’t touch.

Marley: That’s great, we can host a game or two there. Wait, that doesn’t make any sense.

Jarnon: Hey, you have to end this thing some time.

Marley: Good point.

Scene: Administrator BiT has a change of heart and addresses the tribunal:

BiT: I'm standing up here before you today... with a very troubled heart. You see, my friends... I've always insisted on...
taking responsibility for your lives. But, I'm really... like a first-time parent... who makes mistakes... and tries to learn from them.
And like that parent... I find myself at that moment when I have to decide.

Image

Do I hold on... or do I trust you to yourselves? Let go and hope that you've understood... at least some of my lessons.
If we don't start trusting the BBs... how will they ever become trustworthy? I’ve lifted the ban and have allowed them to
post on the main forum... for the purpose of playing a Bored game. Please... join me to pray to the Lord to guide them in their endeavors.

Scene: Marley gathers the other BBs on the decorated main forum

Holy cow, what a part! Tall, beautiful, great dancer . . .

I'll take it as a late birthday present.

Young lady, when you get home, you, your mama, and I will discuss your choices of clothing. I should not ever be able to see your navel, nor tell the temperature when I look at you. :x
..what country can preserve it’s liberties if their rulers are not warned from time to time that their people preserve the spirit of resistance? let them take arms.

Revolution is when you decide that for yourself.

Well, ES has met Lizbet and BeBe. They've met me. And now I've stood in for Kevin! :)
