Re: RIP TLAF
So sorry to hear for you.
There is no way this is ever easy; my Dad died unexpectedly after "successful" knee replacement, my Mom after an agonizingly long demise. I would say "at least for you & TLAF it was both expected & mercifully quick", but that won't make it easy.

So sorry to hear this, melly. TLAF was as much a member of this community as many who post here and we'll all grieve at her departure.

..what country can preserve it’s liberties if their rulers are not warned from time to time that their people preserve the spirit of resistance? let them take arms.

I so sorry, Melly. I'm glad you had her as long as you did. And her friends in the computer also loved her as well.

Melly, I very much did not want to see this post. Your mom has been so loved by you and the entire family, but also by us, who quickly came to cherish her gracious and generous nature. We too will miss her greatly. Hugs. More hugs.

I would have wished her a few more innings, I am so sorry for your loss.
Suitguy is not bitter.
feels he represents the many educated and rational onlookers who believe that the hysterical denouncement of lay scepticism is both unwarranted and counter-productive
The problem, then, is that such calls do not address an opposition audience so much as they signal virtue. They talk past those who need convincing. They ignore actual facts and counterargument. And they are irreparably smug.

Hard to find words that adequately express, but the folks here seem to be doing quite well, so I'll try. Wishing you strength for the coming days. I anticipate that you will find it in the memories of the long and wonderful time you had on this earth with each other.
