This is where I spend my weekends

A teenage girl was bitten by a shark Sunday afternoon and lost her arm, and now town leaders say a teenage boy was bitten about an hour later and also lost an arm in Oak Island, NC.
Suitguy is not bitter.

feels he represents the many educated and rational onlookers who believe that the hysterical denouncement of lay scepticism is both unwarranted and counter-productive

The problem, then, is that such calls do not address an opposition audience so much as they signal virtue. They talk past those who need convincing. They ignore actual facts and counterargument. And they are irreparably smug.

That's very frightening. Two attacks within a hour or so would convince me to stay out of the water.

Just saw this on our local news.

Apparently, there was another incident last week -- the girl's boogie board got the worst of that one. She had a couple of bites but minor compared to these kids.

Prayers for those families.

Ghoul? Where do you get that? I'm just saying warmer waters are responsible for an increase in shark attacks.

There's something to be said for going to the movies on weekends.

Or going to work on weekends. I haven't lost an arm to a shark since I started at Mecca...

I invite y'all to come to Colorado and go hiking, rafting, four-wheeling, mountain biking, golfing, train riding, sight seeing, ziplining, hot springs soaking, ancient ruins educational touring, mountain climbing, fishing, pro sports spectating (not the Broncos nor Avalanche nor Nuggets right now), dinosaur fossils viewing, microbrewery sampling, highway scenic touring, shopping for unique, handmade items of any persuasion, clothing, jewelry, or art, skiing or snowshoeing (not right now), playing in the sand in one of the world's biggest sandboxes, hot air ballooning, county fair attending (not right now), photographing everything from wildflowers to wildlife, and I promise, YOU WILL NOT SEE ONE SINGLE LIVE SHARK. OK, they have some at the Denver Aquarium, but I promise YOU WILL NOT BE BITTEN BY ONE SINGLE SHARK.

Hope to see you soon . . .

I'll reluctantly take the Found It on this one.

And say that there are no lengths to which mangy rodents will not go to vex me.
