I met a new old friend!
Me and Bebe met Mr. Marley today! He used to be one of my very best friends I'd never met, but now I've met him, so he's a very best friend I really know! He gives excellent head scritches.
I accidentally scratched him with my pointy toenails that I've been super-sharpening to use against that horrible possum critter that dances on the back fence. I felt terrible about that, but I will get that possum to get revenge. I tried to introduce Mr. Marley to Evil Squirrel, too, but ES wouldn't come down from his nest. He's like that sometimes.
I can report that Mr. Marley is very tall and very nice and does not look one bit like a ghost. He told me that he likes me best when I am sitting down with a stuffed toy in my mouth. That must be when I look cutest or something. I can't imagine any other reason.
He is driving across the country from New York to California to go to his nephew's graduation. He had to hurry away, though, because he wanted to get away from the thunderstorms that were coming in this direction. BeBe would have liked to get away from those storms, too, so we didn't tell her that he was leaving. I wouldn't have missed her all that much, but I think my mom would have been grumpy about it.

I finally made it to California, today!
Now that I'm not driving and/or hiking hundreds of miles a day, maybe I'll be able to catch up on what's been happening on the Bored.
MarleysNephew graduates from high school on Thursday. That event is the primary motivation for this trip, although there's been a heck of a lot of sightseeing on the drive out, with more to come when I start heading home.

I was considering that route for the trip west, but I decided it was a bit too far out the way. And, as Lizbit said, the monsoon weather in Texas and Oklahoma made me decide to accelerate my journey through those two states. I've been to Zion, Bryce, and the Grand Canyon. All very amazing and beautiful places to visit.
