Meet Maci

#1 Post by ksbirchtree » Fri May 15, 2015 8:22 am

Meet my new companion!!! Since my husband has been in a nursing home the past year, I've been very lonely. Wanted to get a dog, but just wasn't sure about the cost, time it would take, etc. but sometimes the good Lord sends you something you can't refuse.

Maci came to live with me last night. She was in a very bad situation with several other dogs and who knows how many cats. She was dirty, ungroomed and her teeth are very bad. She’s very timid, doesn’t bark, but minds reasonably well. I think she’s been neglected and probably abused. I hesitated because of her teeth, my niece has spent a small fortune on her dogs’ teeth, but I couldn’t leave here there. She cried all the way home, but doesn’t bark. Got her a bath – which she hated, fed – she ate like she hadn’t been fed in days, and she slept on the couch. She needs a lot of TLC. My niece is going to cut her hair on Sunday. Taking her to the vet this afternoon….. Lord only knows how much that will cost, but the previous owners said she hadn’t had any shots. Don’t know that I will be able to keep her, but I couldn’t leave her there. She didn’t like having her picture taken which is why this is blurry. Her coloring is very dark for a Yorkie.

Chewbacca's daughter?

Good for you!

Bless you.

Precious! Here's to many years of faithful companionship.

Christy
post for some 'fund me' help on your local craigslist, specifying that any money should go directly to the vet, for helping defray the costs.

Such a darling girl! Thanks for doing this on behalf of Maci and Casey and Joey and all rescued doggies!
