Other than the phone game, what element would you like reinstated?
My dos centavos . . .

There seems to be plenty of time to answer now. As long as you keep talking, it seems they allow plenty of time to reason it out.

I would like a return to the easy to hard topic tree.

For lifelines, I like ATA, JTQ, and +1. Oh, wait . . .

I would hate to see the loss of the "save haven" at Round 2.

How about an extra safe plateau? And if they brought back the 50-50 what should it replace?
I believe in the usefulness of useless information.

Why not? You asked what I wanted and I told you.

Hell, if you want realistic, TPTB won't listen to me any more than they ever have. And, as discussed earlier TPTB at Valleycrest/ABC would never go back to classic WWTBAM simply because it would cost them. OTOH, none of the "exciting, new" changes they might come up with on their own (anyone remember the new alternatives they dreamed up for the audience question, this season?) will revive this show, either, so why not ask for what I really want?

If it takes TPTB cancelling the show and then waiting to see if TPTB @ Sony decide to resurrect it after a waiting period, I'm ready to take that risk.

An extra safe plateau would be great. And if they bring the 50/50 back, it should replace the +1.

Perhaps another plateau is in the future...+1 stays.

My guess is that while they'd bring back Classic Millionaire, they'd be unlikely to bring back the Phone Game.

In a perfect world, the main thing that could make it better would be a much bigger budget. Then they could cast better players, ask solid questions with increasing values that are proportional to the difficulty, and restore the game elements that made the original show a successful format. The title of the show has become meaningless when they haven't had a top winner in 12 years. Expecting viewers to get excited by revealing a half hour of random values while the host yells at them doesn't seem to be working.

You never know, but I doubt that the phone game will ever be brought back in its original form. No one has mentioned the FF...at least the audition/interview process virtually guarantees you a chance to play the game.

I just saw the other thread...vidotape audition. This can be controlled...friends can contribute ideas etc.

When they did the video audition in the past, it qualified you to take the online test, which if you passed, you were then in the pool.

But all this new video audition does is give you the opportunity to qualify for an in-person audition...which makes absolutely no sense to me (I'm guessing it means this audition is based on a schedule you and the show can agree to rather than the pre-set ones).

The vastly reduced budget is what is killing the show- no doubt about that.

I'm actually surprised the show has survived this long as a syndicated effort- it was at its best as a prime time show with prime time budgets being thrown at it.

It must be making money (via ads), otherwise they would pull the plug. And they are continually looking for ways to "improve" the show...other than giving away a million dollars every other day.

I don't know if the number of people trying out for the show has diminished over the years, but perhaps a return to a version of the "original money tree" will revive home viewer's interest.
