We're currently dealing with one of those defense attorneys. Deliberate homicide trial: Married couple and a friend of wife are at a bar - husband is falling down drunk, wife is well-toasted, friend is DD. Allegedly, husband starts pouting, not getting enough attention. Wife and friend decide they need to take him home. They arrive, friend stays in car while wife takes husband inside to put him to bed. Wife and friend plan to go back out. Time goes by, wife doesn't reappear, so friend goes inside. Husband is knocking wife around, arguing, etc. Friend says, (wife), you're not staying here tonight. Friend goes to pack wife a bag and to call 911 as fight is escalating, while husband and wife continue arguing. Husband then follows friend into bedroom and fires 9 rounds, hitting friend with 8 of them while she is on the phone with 911. He is claiming self-defense. The State produced an exhibit that is a full-size mannequin with the trajectory of the bullets marked with dowels. Friend is right-handed. One of the bullets travelled through her right wrist and into her head, as her hand was holding the phone near her ear, but he's going to testify she was attacking him. No way that's gonna fly with the jury.

Closing arguments started this morning. Defense is trying to keep the defendant from getting the death penalty by saying the big brother was the mastermind.

It only takes one sympathetic juror to keep Tsarnaev off of death row.
