RIP Geoffrey Lewis

#1 Post by Vandal » Wed Apr 08, 2015 5:32 am

The father of actress Juliette Lewis appeared alongside Clint Eastwood in “High Plains Drifter,” “Thunderbolt and Lightfoot” and “Every Which Way But Loose”. He was 79.

This guy has been PROLIFIC both in movies and on TV. He passes just as his daughter makes a high-profile move to TV (ABC's "Secrets and Lies"). I never made the connection that he was Juliette's father. Similarly, I just found out last week that Rizzoli's brother Frankie (played by Jordan Bridges) is of THAT Bridges family and is Beau's son.

RIP.

I didn't realize he was Juliette's father either. He was a staple in Clint Eastwood movies for two decades because of his versatility; he could either play amiable sidekicks or nasty villains. His best role was probably the sidekick with Clint in the "Which Way" orangutan movies.

I thought he did a great job for the Eastwood movies. I googled his filmography -- holy cow! Now that I think about it, I remember him in Tom Horn. He was a great supporting actor, the sort where you could never have movies if you didn't have them.
