Survivor: Worlds Apart
Interesting first episode of the new season. The cast is broken up into three tribes: Blue Collar, White Collar an No Collar, based on profession/life style.
Some of the tribe members are a bit stereotyped, but that's bound to happen on reality TV. The blue collar guy from Boston sounds like Matt Damon playing a blue collar guy from Boston.
Lots of boob shots already.
This could be a season to remember.

Re: Survivor: Worlds Apart
Opinions from what I saw:
1. Vince, the coconut vendor guy on the "no collar" tribe is rather strange. Not sure if it's intended in the editing but instead of coming across as just somewhat flakey, the editing is making him look really stalker-like creepy.
2. The boneheaded move by one of the pairs of tribe members to take the small bag of food and the idol clue was just that - boneheaded. This is season 30 and while Survivor is excellent about mixing things up and creating new viewpoints, there are some things that just aren't going to change. As one of the contestants pointed out, in this game, there is honor or deceit - there is no middle ground.
3. Nice to see that 2/3 of the tribes had several who took the time between being notified by the Survivor folks that they were contestants and the time to arrive on the island that they had the smarts to go to you-tube and learn how to start a matchless fire. Proof that after 30 seasons, people can actually learn something.
4. Not only a lot of boob shots, but several of extreme close-up 'nothing but boob' shots.
5. On the flip side of the boob shots.......Dan in his 'speedo' bathingsuit????? I will confess to frequently wearing a Speedo when I was in my late teens and early 20's. I worked on boats and at a marina so it was convenient to wear under my shorts for the many times that I was in the water. At the same time, I noticed some of the older guys at the marina - let's just call them "old men with large, beer guts" to avoid any confusion - who also wore a Speedo. I vowed then that once I lost my thin appearance that the Speedo would go away - and I have honored that vow. Dan would definitely fit into the OMWLBG zone. Eeeewwwwww!
6. They previewed one of the guys running around nekkid for next week. Probably better than the Speedo.
7. This season is the closest thing to an 'all white' cast we've seen in a while. It seems that the normal casting of at least one African/American guy/girl pair and one obvious gay guy didn't happen this time. Glad to see this as it was getting a bit predictable and also emphasized how much casting was really done to pick who we see.
8. All in all, starting out to look like a good season. It will be interesting to see if the tribes vote off members in a balanced manner or if there will be either a dominate or sucky tribe during these first few weeks.

Is the spoiler function no longer working?
I had a few things in the above post that I had to go back into and delete as they did not get the spoiler treatment.

It depends on which "skin" you're using. Spoilers still work for Aero Blue. --Bobjaybee wrote:Is the spoiler function no longer working?

Getaway Blue also works. Well, the tags display extra text, but the spoilers DO work.Bob78164 wrote:It depends on which "skin" you're using. Spoilers still work for Aero Blue.jaybee wrote:Is the spoiler function no longer working?

Go to User Control Panel -> Board preferences -> select either Aero Blue or Getaway Blue under "My board style".

Re: Survivor: Worlds Apart
A very satisfying ending overall. Mike really worked for that win, and I am glad most of the jury was able to vote game play, not emotionally.
I would have liked to have seen Mama C make the second chance game, but am very pleased that Joe gets another chance.

I was delighted with the Mike win; very bummed T didn't make it.
