So is next year's Super Bowl...
...going to be just Super Bowl L? Probably not; they'll use Super Bowl 50.
But will the next year be Super Bowl LI?

The Roman Numerals are back for Super Bowl LI, however.
They were seriously worried about the negative impact of calling it Super Bowl L.

Yes, ad even says so, "San Francisco Bay Area", like they they haven't actually finalized the details, just know its going to be in the general vicinity. Guess the marketing folks decided Santa Clara doesn't have the same draw. I wonder if they advertised it as the San Francisco Bay area back for Super Bowl XIX...which was at Stanford Stadium in Palo Alto.
49ers (XIX- 32 miles from Candlestick Park) and Rams (XIV- Rose Bowl, 14 miles from LA Coliseum) still the two teams that came the closest to participating in a Super Bowl in their home venue.
