If this doesn't make Marley <grumble> then nothing will

Guy on today's show had auditioned 22 times in 4 different states.

Blew the 3rd question.

Oh, gosh, and I haven't even watched today's episode yet!

I hope they explained how he finally got cast after that respectable (not as extensive as my auditioning history, but respectable) quest.

When I heard Terry talk to Matt about his 22 auditions, I could just picture Marley grumbling at his TV.
I'm just a game show nerd.

I have auditioned in 4 states also. Georgia, North Carolina, Maryland and New York.
Suitguy is not bitter.

feels he represents the many educated and rational onlookers who believe that the hysterical denouncement of lay scepticism is both unwarranted and counter-productive

The problem, then, is that such calls do not address an opposition audience so much as they signal virtue. They talk past those who need convincing. They ignore actual facts and counterargument. And they are irreparably smug.

I think I've only managed 3: New York, California, and Nevada. --Bob

Does Marley still want to get on this show which now resembles pretty much nothing of what it started out as...and where blowing the third question is probably relatively easy to do?

They'll never know unless they ask him . . . . --Bob

That's a very good question.

I shout at my TV even more than I used to. I shout at Terry Crews' antics more than I shouted at Cedric's. A year ago, I'd have found that hard to believe.

I could ask Terry to do some things, which might sound mildly amusing to us, but would probably fall on deaf ears among TPTB. I'd like to start the game by asking him to pretend that we're immediately playing Classic Millionaire. That would mean that Terry would talk in a calm and steady voice, instead of manically shouting. It would mean no pec pumps and no dancing on stage as if he'd just scored a touchdown. But maybe he could remember, just once for me, to say the full name of the show. And it would mean pretending that the dollar values progressed from $100 like they used to, instead of encouraging the audience to cheer for completely random reveals of early big amounts. (If I decided to walk away, then they could reveal what the question values truly were. If they were higher than the fixed progression, it would be a walk away bonus.) It might be a nice change of pace...

Do I think TPTB would go for it? Not a chance.

But, basically, the ground has changed since my last audition in October 2012. I emphasized that fact during that audition, about how I had always used MarleysParent's house as the base for my frequent audition trips to NYC, but how, after their deaths, I was selling that house. I mentioned how I had only gotten a last minute ticket to that audition/taping because the house closing had been delayed for a couple days. I emphasized that this was the end of an era, and my AP gave me some very positive feedback that had me feeling that I might finally be cast.

And that optimistic feeling didn't even survive leaving the studio, as a few words from another auditioner revealed that what the AP told me about not doing video interviews in the new studio was a big fat lie.

Do I still want to appear on the show, despite all the rule changes and format changes and question changes that I despise? Yes.

Am I motivated to travel to CT to give the APs another chance to kick me around? Alas, no.

I don't feel the need either to audition if the show is renewed, and it is a 20 minute walk from my job. Then again, I probably have auditioned a near record number of times in the past.
