Back in a few days...

Heading out to scenic Ft. Rucker, AL. Since I'm changing jobs at the first of the month, my job PTB decided to squeeze in one last test opportunity before I go, over the weekend, when the rest of my family will be celebrating my son's birthday.

I'm looking forward to starting the new job Tuesday (with the 25% raise that goes with it), but it looks like using the Internet may not be possible at the new place. You all may just find me posting more in the evening, but I'll still be around.

Is it too early to start daydreaming about auditions? Does anyone remember when TPTB announced auditions last year, and what the schedule was like? I've already started checking flight schedules! Thanks everybody!

It's not too early to start dreaming. I think they started the "summer" auditions in late April last year; they were certainly under way by May.

I've been checking the SyndieBAM web page for announcements, but they're still promoting the Pop Culture Mobile Sweepstakes.

Ft. Rucker is literally in the middle of nowhere! Which of course is why the base is there. That way the helicopters don't land on civilians when they crash.

If you're anywhere close to the city of Enterprise, you may have cell phone service. Maybe the base has a cell tower as well. I just know when I drive that way heading to the beach, I have about 2 hours of no cell service starting about 25 miles north of Enterprise. Once you get into Enterprise reception is fine for about 5 miles. As you leave town, so does the cell service.

Hey, it can be scenic! There is the beautiful boll weevil monument not far away in lovely downtown Enterprise. I should know, I spent about a decade living in Enterprise while stationed at Fort Rucker for one year...

This is good news. We've got a couple of suppliers in New Jersey that I need to audit. I'll see how many days the boss will let take.

I'm back, unfortunately earlier than expected.

You may remember that my mother-in-law had been in a nursing home for several years, with dementia. She passed away Friday morning. The viewing is today, with the funeral Sunday.

There's a great reunion going on up in Heaven, with my parents and my in-laws.
