OK, so 99x12 is the same as 990+198, which is 1188. Problem solved.

Sandy used lifelines on two questions I thought were easy. (Then again, contestants often get the right answer when I don't have a clue. It all depends on what you know.) But I liked the way she multiplied 99 x 12 in her head with no problem. (She traced the numbers with her finger on the podium.)

I was thinking that if they're going to allow that (she asked permission as she was doing it) people should come to show with a pocket full of graphite shavings or something. Just in case. I didn't see her spitting on her fingers, & anyway spit would dry pretty fast, & I don't think she was writing in the dust because they probably dust that podium frequently, so her tracing numbers may have been more of a mental aid than a visual one. But still.

for the playing-along record, I had no clue on Q5 & would have jumped it. Otherwise I'm fine.
