RIP Luise Rainer
Two time Oscar winning actress (for The Great Ziegfeld and The Good Earth), she was the first person to win multiple acting Oscars and, at the time of her death, the oldest living Oscar winner. Despite her longevity, she appeared in only one movie (and several TV shows, including an episode of The Love Boat) after 1943.
Age 104.

Well, that changes the answers to a lot of trivia questions! (But I should add that the Tangredi curse is not at work here. The earliest acting winner still alive is Margaret O'Brien, who won the honorary juvenile award in 1944. Two earlier winners of the juvenile Oscar, Shirley Temple and Mickey Rooney, passed away this year.
Which means that the three earliest Oscar-winning actors ALL died in 2014!

George Kennedy is in the Mark Wahlberg version of The Gambler playing Mark's grandfather.
