reportedly going to be Jim Harbaugh, whose last coaching job was with the 49ers. He quit that job yesterday, got on a plane, and flew to Ann Arbor. Rumor has it he's getting a 6 year $49 million contract. That would make him the highest paid coach in all college football. For that money, the team had better start winning games.

There is a press conference tomorrow, according to the sportscaster on my TV station. Stay tuned.

That's the next big area of the CFB "arms race," and one that the B1G has been woefully behind other conferences -- and was purportedly one reason why Gary Anderson made what could best be called a "lateral transfer" from Wisconsin to Oregon State (of course, there were other reasons, but we won't go into that here).

Let's put it this way -- with what Lane Kiffin and Kirby Smart are making a Bama, what Bud Foster gets at Vippy Sue, and what Will Muschamp is going to get at Auburn, the money that most Big 10 schools are paying is chump change. And the better assistants know that.
