The town of Manchester was something of a nasty detail to add. Its population (according to Wikipedia) is just over 9,000 people. I live in the Finger Lakes and I've done the tourist thing and visited Hill Cumorah, and I wouldn't even have been able to identify the town it was in. (The neighboring town of Palmyra is more famously identified with the beginning of Mormonism.) As for the NYC-Connecticut audience being able recognize the town, as Eric speculated--no way!
