Mentalist and Undercover Boss to Return

#1 Post by silverscreenselect » Wed Nov 05, 2014 9:31 am

CBS has announced return dates for The Mentalist and Undercover Boss. Originally, they held these shows in reserve in case any of their new shows bombed badly, but all their new dramas have been picked up for the entire season. Now, they'll fill in slots while other series go on brief hiatus.

The Mentalist will premiere Sunday November 30 in place of The Good Wife, which will finish its run for the calendar year. After New Year's, The Mentalist will move to Wednesday at 8 until February (in place of Survivor), when it will conclude the series with a two-hour episode.

Undercover Boss similarly will replace Madame Secretary in December on Sunday and then move to Friday at 8 until the next season of The Amazing Race returns.

The Mentalist is one of our favorite shows and frankly ended last season with an episode that would have made a satisfying season finale if it had been cancelled then as rumored. However, this last season allows them to follow up on the new (or, more precisely, newly recognized by them) romance between the two leads.

I'm still waiting for the real Red John to pop up with "ha! you didn't really get me!". The unfrocking/IDing of RJ just wasn't satisfactory to me. Or for Cho's old slutty girlfriend, who we last saw pregnant but supposedly by her new boyfriend, to show up with a kid who looks a lot like more like Cho than the new boyfriend.

But then, I'm also waiting for a turnaround on Good Wife where Kalinda gets prosecuted for the death of her magically disappeared abusive ex-husband, but since it was just advertised that Archie Punjabi is leaving the series at the end of its 6th year, I guess this year, maybe not. Or maybe so, considering that the character is leaving, one way or another.

I thought undercover boss was "real" until they went to a company that I used to work for, Waste Management. The boss went undercover at a landfill and the Federal regulations are that no one can go on a landfill unless they have had the proper training. No one could show up at a landfill without a prior clearance because of the dangers and possibility of an accident. The employee that was featured was shown as doing many different jobs. Duh every person that does her job at a landfill does the same things. I worked on the training manuals for these positions and met with my favorite people, "lawyers", while documenting all the industry regs. So I know everything they told me was the truth.
A new employee is not trained on site. They attend corporate training first and then go to the site.

Did you think Santa Claus and the Easter Bunny were real too?

You're not one of those people who believe in reality TV, are you? They're all as fake as a Michigan lawyer...

I worked at corporate in Oak Brook during the 1990's when Buntrock was cooking the books with Arthur Andersen. If you got training on CIMS, Maps, Cyborg, Clims (legal system) among others and attended training in Oak Brook, took CBT classes or read a manual, welcome to some of my and others on my team's finest work  I did a training class in Houston and the first day the attendees complained about the choice of food and the rest of the week, the manager cancelled the free food because he was mad they complained in front of me.

What department were you in?
