top o' the mornin'® 10/7/2014
After weathering the usual end of the fiscal year craziness (compounded by my boss's insistence that I not stay in the office but take my laptop home and be "on call") elwing and I went to Wichita, KS, over the weekend to attend the wedding of elwing's cousin, whom she hadn't seen in a number of years. It was a chance for her to reconnect with the only family she has left. The wedding was - well, I guess "interesting" is the best way to describe it. It was held in a Baptist church to which neither the bride nor the groom belonged. The music included a trio, a saxaphone solo and an attempt to perform "The Wedding Song" foiled by a glitch in the recording of the backup music. The ceremony concluded with bride, groom, attendants and pastor donning novelty glasses and proceeding down the aisle.
"Elen sila lumenn omentielvo...A star shines on the hour of our meeting."

I'm not familiar with this Baptist ritual.earendel wrote:The ceremony concluded with bride, groom, attendants and pastor donning novelty glasses and proceeding down the aisle.
