#1 Post by Beebs52 » Sat Oct 04, 2014 1:35 pm

We're gonna be grandparents. Oh yeah.

Don't tell anyone for awhile or post on FB since it's very new. I got permission to post here.
Well, then

This is great news! Grandbabies are the best thing evah. (That even goes for the ones some of us acquire long after they are babies because of our own kidlets being smart enough to marry somebody who already has the best young 'uns evah, not counting the best things evah already born to another kidlet sibling.

It goes without saying that you are far too young to be a grandmother. We know that. It is a tenet of our grandmotherly, cultish religion. Jeff is on his own. Yep, I already can picture him looking in stores at tiny velvet dresses, miniature baseball uniforms, and teensy, unisex football jerseys in red.

Welcome to the club!

I joined 2 years ago and even though it was too early for me to feel like a Grandma, it is a wonderful thing.

Of course the first thing I did was make a quilt. Okay even though it was one grandson I made three quilts. :-)

Well, you need the really special one for him to sleep under, the one you throw on the floor and change him on and the one that is more decorative. Plus it let me go buy fabric.

Congratulations.

This got me to thinking . . . when my mother was my (current) age, she'd been a grandmother for more than 5 years. My oldest niece is now 25. Where the hell did all the time go? --Bob

Congratulations!

We favor the term "Gran Gran." to distinguish Mrs. SSS from our daughter's mother-in-law, who goes by "Maw Maw."

As long as no one calls me Nanny. That was my mother in law's name. I saw someone who had Bad Granny...

There is a store down the road from me that sells just quilting supplies. Given the huge numbers of retired folks here they probably do a good business.
