Survivor and Pick Em League Open

#1 Post by kroxquo » Fri Aug 15, 2014 9:00 am

I've set up leagues for an NFL Survivor and Pick Em game. I also have some sots open in my head to head league. If anyone is interested, let me know and I will send you the login info to register.

In a Pick 'Em set up, you pick the winner of every game for the week and assign confidence points for each game. If you are really certain a team will win, you assign a high number of points, less certain gets a lower number of points. For each game you get right, you get the points you assigned - highest number of points at the end of the season wins.

In a Survivor set up, you pick the winner of one game that week. If you are right, you survive until the next week. If you are wrong, you get a strike. Two strikes and you're out. The catch is that you can only pick a team once during the season. The last person standing is the winner

Assigning confidence points is too much work for me, but I'd be interested in a Survivor game. --Bob

I think I could probably beat the sots, head to head.

I run both leagues through Yahoo. If interested, go to yahoo fantasy sports. The group number for the pick 'em is 17236, for the survivor is 8097. The password for both is billbergey

I can't seem to find a way to search or join leagues by number. Please advise. --Bob

Towards the bottom-right side of the fantasy football page is a section labeled "other links."

It includes:
http://football.fantasysports.yahoo.com/pickem and http://football.fantasysports.yahoo.com/survival

Those appear to take the provided information, but I got messages (on both) that there is an issue with the group number or password.

I have done the Pick Em contest several years and hope to this year. I look forward to the survivor league. Those are always fun. Thanks for setting them up.

Not sure what the problem was but I've changed the password on both to Jaworski. The group numbers should be right.

Um, clueless.

I don't think either of these are the league I played in the last few years.

But I do want to play Fantasy Football this year. Husband1111 are going to have to do it without help from Son1111 I think.

It looks like you were in a league that ShamelessWeasel set up last August:

I'm in for both after using the separate link for each game and the new password that worked for both. First game is Thursday. Woo hoo!

Are there prizes in the Yahoo leagues? I'd like to try again this year, as long as I don't have another stroke half way through the season again.

I'm in. You shouldn't have any trouble determining which team is mine in both games. (If you said "WhoIsMark", you're qualified to be the next governor of Texas.)

I'm in but I don't recognize too many names in the pick 'em. Last year we had this group:

1 TClark45 1468 174-81
2 The Boneheads 1404 162-93
3 LB's Evil Squirrels 1399 160-95
4 Rainbow Donkeys 1395 160-95
5 Shameless Weasel 1369 150-105
6 Vandalians 1338 156-99
7 MarkBarrett 1315 158-97
8 kusch 1298 147-108
9 Skippy 1235 149-106
10 andrewjackson 1115 134-121
11 earendel 897 115-140
12 Hoosier Daddies 674 77-178
13 Im_Ace 359 43-212

Where are you people? The group was always WWTBAM and the password was kissuranus, thanks to Ace.

Perhaps I am in the wrong group. Skippy? Can you hear me?

I'm in for both. Hopefully I'll be able to play each week.

I'm in. I kept seeing ads for the opening game being September 11, so I'm glad I checked in to see there were actually games this week....

I'm in. Almost forgot to check to see if y'all were doing it again this year.

Pretty sure that I'll be getting them all correct this year. Just a gut feeling.
