With apologies to the 1980 Olympic Hockey Team..

Do you believe in miracles? Yesssss!!

Despite doctors' assurances that Mom would never do so, she was in her own home for Easter.

I am not one to bandy about the word "miracle" lightly, but her road to get back to where she is, is nothing short of amazing. We were told two weeks ago that she may not last the month. Now her prognosis is more open-ended. True, they still tell us she'd be doing well to last the year, as picking up the least little bug could lead to the end for her, but I'm a little less inclined to just take their word for it now. My mom has proven to be a tougher old broad than they gave her credit for being!

OK, on the "let's be realistic" side, she is fully confined to her bed now, since one of her lungs is almost fully collapsed, and the doctors say that too much jostling (as in transferring back and forth to her scooter) would be too much for her to handle. And she is still on oxygen and always will be, though at a much lower level than she was just a short time ago. Still. again, she is HOME. Where they said she'd never be.

Tomorrow is her 75th birthday. Although I won't be there in person to help her celebrate (with this nasty flu I've got, I don't think her catching what would likely be a death sentence is a very good idea), I will give her a call and celebrate in my heart here at home.

Thank you all for your prayers, vibes, and good thoughts.

And Go, Mom!!
