RIP David Legeno

#1 Post by Bob Juch » Fri Jul 11, 2014 4:22 pm

Here's an ironic headline:

‘Harry Potter’ Actor Found Dead in Death Valley

David Legeno, an English actor and mixed martial artist best known for his villainous role in the “Harry Potter” films, was found dead in Death Valley on Sunday morning. He was 50.

The Inyo County Sheriff’s Department was notified on the morning of July 6 by two unrelated hikers who found the remains below Death Valley’s Manly Beacon, near Zabriskie Point. A helicopter was sent out to transport the body, later identified as Legeno.

Officials of Inyo County report that Legeno died of “heat-related issues,” likely on a hiking outing. An autopsy has yet to be performed.

His IMDB bio begins

"A twin fisted existentialist, whose post-Nietschian sensibilities reject the lantern of the cynic in a quest for a sun that leaves no shadow."

I'll be honest with you. I'm going to need that translated.

I don't get the irony. I assume it's called Death Valley because lots of people have died there. It would be ironic if it was called Longlife Valley. Or does the irony have to do with Harry Potter?

It's not irony. BJ is neither as smart nor as clever as he thinks he is.

Somehow, I don't think we'll be seeing his name mentioned at next year's Oscar memorial tribute.
