On what subject? That's the channel I watch the 6:00 news on.

Were you in the second group where the guy did the magic show before the test? I was in that group as well. I passed the test (the blonde haired girl did my interview). She told me twice I did really well on the test and she wants me to get on. And yes, you're right - Hawaiian shirts are great. I was wearing one and she commented on how much she liked it and that was a hook into the conversation. However, I have a new motto - I choose not to have hope.

Hmmm. They wouldn't seem to fit the audience dress code.
Is there a DRESS CODE?
Yes! Our dress code is UPSCALE/CASUAL. Think Stylish…Think Classy…Think SOLID BRIGHT COLORS.

No. As far as I know, no one did a screen test although there were a few people there who were given releases to fill out and were told to wait after their interviews. I left right after my interview. If I didn't get one of those releases, that's a bad sign, right?

I talked to a blonde lady who said the same things about how I did so well on the test and she wanted to get me on the show. (Nothing about Hawaiian shirts since that's not what I was wearing.) No releases, no screen test, no video.

I heard another auditioner talking about some sort of screen test or video they would do if they really liked you. I also thought I saw some people being called back to another room 2 or 3 at a time. So I can't figure out if they really, really liked me or were giving me a polite brush-off.

Oh, and hi everyone!

They did the screen tests upstairs in the projection room. They had me sign a release before the screen test. I have never seen so many people pass the test.

From personal experience with the same enthusiasm two years ago, I'm guessing it was a brush-off. :|

Did you really register this handle five years ago and only now decide to post something? What were you waiting for?

It did seem to me that if they were really serious about having someone on the show they'd be doing more paperwork then and there. Guess I'll just have to wait and see. She said something about sending out email in 2 weeks.

I've lurked here now and then since the primetime show, but it's been a long time since I visited. When I heard about the Raleigh auditions I dug out the old login. Hope I didn't scare anyone! Thanks for the answers and the welcome.

Well, I don't think they'd do that. There have been some auditioners that got The Call almost immediately, but the full contestant paperwork always comes after that.

The question of whether the video interview really is optional depends on the deep, dark secrets of their casting process, which we can only speculate about, because they'll never say. Can the 20-something APs really get someone on the show entirely by their individual choice or do their fellow APs, their supervisors and/or the sponsors (collectively, the folks we call TPTB) get to review and approve/disapprove the nominations? My opinion is that, having instituted the procedure of the video interviews (which they didn't do for several years), TPTB really want to see those videos before casting anyone.

Good luck! Hopefully, you'll get the news that proves my theory wrong.

Probably a good thing you did have the old login since it's near impossible for newbies to sign up for this Bored anymore without smacking an administrator upside the head....
