St. Francis executive director Tom Leuhrs also sees an economic reason for the increase of the number of homeless young people. They're having difficulty moving from high school and college to the workforce, Leuhrs said.

The problem, then, is that such calls do not address an opposition audience so much as they signal virtue. They talk past those who need convincing. They ignore actual facts and counterargument. And they are irreparably smug.

That is certainly debatable-but accepting your premise for the sake of argument. Thank God for the Private Sector Shale oil and Gas Revolution(TM) that is responsible for the vast majority of the growth in our economy. :P
