Reminds me of one of my dad's war stories he told me a couple of years ago. Had a murderer who was sentenced to 110 years in prison (I don't remember the exact number, but give or take a few years). The guy cried out after being told the sentence, "But judge, I'll never be able to do that much time!"
The judge simply replied, "Do what you can."

And yet this happens...glad your boss had nothing to do with it.
The Kansas Supreme Court on Friday overturned death sentences for Carr brothers
Almost 15 years ago those two committed one of the heinous crimes ever, and yet they are still alive, and even get their 'death penalty' overturned. They should have been hung on site after the verdict. There is no doubt they did it. None. There is no reason they are still alive. None.

..what country can preserve it’s liberties if their rulers are not warned from time to time that their people preserve the spirit of resistance? let them take arms.

Pennsylvania has 185 prisoners on death row, but only 3 have been executed since 1995. Pennsylvania prosecutors should warn victims' families that there's no practical difference between a death sentence and life without parole, and which sentence a murderer gets has nothing to do with the victim's merit. Otherwise the families are in for a lot of added grief. I know Texas is different.BackInTex wrote:And yet this happens...glad your boss had nothing to do with it.

For sure - the jury got it right, and the victims were outstanding.

And, would I assume the judge administered the sentencing, rather than the jury? I'm sure the jury would have done the same. I only ask because on the capital murder jury and dui juries I was on, the jury did both.tlynn78 wrote:Beebs52 wrote:Congrats on the verdict.
