Pea update

#1 Post by mrkelley23 » Tue Jul 15, 2014 8:56 am

I asked her permission to share certain life updates here, and she said she trusted me to do so (Oh, cruel fate!)

She and Sting have parted ways.

She changed one job she loved for one she apparently loves even more.

For her 60th birthday, recently, she solicited ideas for things to do that she had never done. She made a list, and intends to do one of these a month, if not more. So far, they have been the easy-ish ones, like eating foods she "knew" she didn't like, and so never ate them before. She is updating her progress on these challenges once a week, on Mondays.

She also has a posting streak I consider equal to lb's, in some ways: every single day since November of 2012 (I think -- might've been 2013 -- either way, it's extraordinary) she has managed to post something for which she is grateful. She doesn't repeat, doesn't descend into glurge, and doesn't use these posts as a passive aggressive opportunity to attack someone or something. As with lb's streak, it's something I could never do.

Both her parents are still alive, although they need more care than she can give.

I think that about covers the major things.

A small correction, Ms. Peacock for her 59th birthday solicited ideas for things she has never done before for her sixtieth year
Suitguy is not bitter.

feels he represents the many educated and rational onlookers who believe that the hysterical denouncement of lay scepticism is both unwarranted and counter-productive

The problem, then, is that such calls do not address an opposition audience so much as they signal virtue. They talk past those who need convincing. They ignore actual facts and counterargument. And they are irreparably smug.

Oops!

I can imagine what her response to that one is going to be...
