From the episodes I attended this week, the Plus 1 worked out pretty well, and was a fun addition. Didn't seem to have any music or sounds associated with it though.
The only other significant change I noticed was the removal of the categories. The separate podiums do not have any screens in them, despite what the leaked set photos led some to believe.

And with it the advantage the first contestant of the day had, to see the unrandomized topic tree.FlameMoth wrote:The only other significant change I noticed was the removal of the categories.

Hmmm. While it potentially provided important information to some contestants (from the unsorted category order, rather than from the generally nonsensical category names), the fact that only some contestants got to see it was inherently unfair, which justifies removing the feature.jarnon wrote:And with it the advantage the first contestant of the day had, to see the unrandomized topic tree.FlameMoth wrote:The only other significant change I noticed was the removal of the categories.
Beyond that, the feature was a time waster and a pain in the neck for the BBTranscriptTeam.
Now TPTB will never again have to avoid the question of whether the unrandomized question tree was really in order of difficulty.

It also lets them use unused questions in future stacks easier.

It probably also lets them use whatever question they feel like asking if they pull someone from the audience to answer one question at the end of the show.goongas wrote:It also lets them use unused questions in future stacks easier.
