An actual autocorrect story

#1 Post by Beebs52 » Fri Jul 04, 2014 4:46 pm

So, figured out the talk to text thing on my phone, thanks to Greg, our oldest, discovering it on his. I just almost texted to him and his wife, up at Grand Lake in Oklahoma with her folks, that We're going to have sex in a bit.. What I actually said was that we were going to have steaks in a bit.

Enunciate.
Well, then

Sounds like a Freudian slip to me. (Funny, I never knew Freud was a cross-dresser....)

Good thing you didn't try to say that you were going to have steaks out on the deck...

I'm sure they would have to classify that under TMI and make you swear on the Bible you will never text them again!

I hate autocorrect!

So I was at a plant in NC this week. One of the raw materials can have agglomerates if it sits for a while so the rule is to mix it vigourously before using it.

I sent a text about the 'deagglomeration' process. One of the autocorrect options was 'death while dating'. When I mentioned this the co-worker I was sending the text to, she said one of her options was 'dragline ration'.

Really?

Actually, you can thank (or blame) autocorrect for one musical artist's name.

When Stephani Germanotta was trying to come up with a stage name, she typed in a reference to Queen's "Radio Gaga." Autocorrect replaced "radio" with "lady" and the rest, as they say, is history.

I turned off the autocorrect on my flip phone. Do y'all's fancier phones have that as an option?
