I watched a movie last week called Father is a Bachelor with William Holden in the title role, and he lip syncs a song called MacNamara's Band with "Oh! Hennessy Tennessy tootles the flute, my word 'tis something grand" in the lyrics. I thought of that when I saw the name of Alex's band. Also, I thought Buddy Clark was totally ripped off. He sings Holden's songs but is uncredited! Holden is a great actor but couldn't sing like that.

In general I've seen ATA mismanaged a lot. Contestants struggle to gauge the difficulty level of the questions without being given this information. Many also fall for the fluff they throw into the questions, causing them to think the questions are easier or more difficult than they are, and resulting in poor ATA vs JTQ decisions.

Sorry about that, but I was not picking on your knowledge in any way. The point I was trying to make is that I think the label WWOQ is applied far too often. I think the original meaning of the term was something like "a question that could not be teased out or calculated from the question nor answer choices." That is too broad, as it could be true about even very simple questions about money, flags, pop culture, etc. I just felt that if something is on a current world map, it's fair game. Shortly before this question, there was another one about some Colorado obscurity that you knew off the top of your head, but most others would not have known. No one ever calls WWOQ on a question they know!

I think some people (not you) use the term every time they don't know an answer. Every answer is either "easy" or "WWOQ," with nothing ever in between.
