Flashback Friday

#1 Post by Wierd Al Yankovic » Fri May 16, 2014 2:23 am

They put a photo dump on the old domain
Where the online market used to reign
Before that they put up a shrine to Siri
On the site they used to call "Home of the Weary"
That's where the BB's used to come and play
Me and mini went there everyday

Come posting
All our Bored buds used to come and call
Why not come posting?
It's only virtual

Another Wednesday, another day
She would be ready with something smartass to say
At my keyboard, I was always slacking
We always knew that we would end up thread hijacking
We'd end up blowing through all our Merry Men
Before I logged off to be in bed by ten

Come posting
That's how we did it when I was just a newb
And when they said come posting
We acted like a boob

Nobody has logged in since last night
There's no use to sit up and wait
No one to get in a big row
Over politics or the show's fate

Through my monitor I can see it in the Boredlight
One final thread stickied to the top, saying goodnight

The day they knocked down the BAM Bored
Nobody stood and cried
The day they knocked down the BAM Bored
Part of my good life died, just died

Now I've moved on and writing on a blog
There's a 404 where the BAM Bored used to bog
And mini caved in, now she's living on Facebook
Like all the others that fiend Zuckerberg took
She's living social and crushes candy good
But if I asked her, I wonder if she would

Come posting
Come on mini, have a free for all
Don't be afraid to come posting
It's only virtual

Come posting
Just like the BAM Bored on a dull Monday
And all our friends will come posting
Where the BB's used to play

What song is this meant to parody? I thought for a moment it was The Night They Drove Old Dixie Down but that doesn't seem to be right. --Bob

I'll be posting a new game Monday morning. That'll stir up a little activity, I hope.
