I think life is showing...
twice now, the cashier at the rec center has charged me the seniors rate, when I still have over 4 years to go to qualify

I had that happen to me for the first time at the movies a couple of weeks ago. I bought our tickets at the concession stand, along with some goodies, and I didn't do the math so I didn't realize what had happened until I got home and happened to glance at the ticket before tossing it. I'm going through some bad stuff. At least I hope its "through", not a permanent condition. But anyway, it must show on my face, because the amount of seats I've been voluntarily given on busses lately is stupendous. People who look way, way older than I do, at least who I think look way, way older than I do remain standing while someone young offers me their seat. It's embarrassing. And if I try to explain I don't really need it as much as someone else it's even more embarrassing, so I take it.
Last year, after the flippin' operation for cancer, when I was so sore I could hardly move on the bus, no-one gave me their seat. But they're doing it this year.
I'd say take the lower-rate thing. They just don't want to err the wrong way & be taken to task for it, I think.
