The Chase Austin auditions

#1 Post by geoffil » Sat Apr 05, 2014 7:45 pm

I went to the audition but all auditioners signed a NDA so I can't disclose any secrets. However, I am pretty sure I saw some BB's, but not sure. Possibly The Confessor and someone from LA.The best part is having a set time to audition. There was a worst part, but I can't say what it was. I am enjoying my first visit to Austin. Thanks Jesse and others for all the restaurant recs (loved Moonshine and the pizza place and Amy's) Austin people seem to love to have a good time. I was in the middle of the hot rod parade . The Capitol is beautiful and the LBJ museum was great. Next is the UT tour for Geoffil daughter.

Were you in the 3:00 session? I was the last person to be seated, in the front row. If you saw me, I wish you had said hello. I think I missed 2 or 3 out of 50, but was not asked to stay, so read into that whatever you like. I stayed around until those who were wanted completed their game playing, then escorted three of them on a sightseeing tour. We had margs at the Oasis, BBQ at County Line, and did Geeks trivia at Opal Divine's north location. They all got callbacks for tomorrow. Indeed, one of them was from Los Angeles, and one was once a regular on this board.

Yes I was 3 o'clock audition and I too thought I passed the test and didn't miss that many questions. I wonder what the reasoning was for this. I hope it didn't have anything to do with being over a certain age. Thanks for posting that because I was really wondering what happened and now I know it had nothing to do with the test results.

Yeah. I hope the rumors I've heard about Santa Claus aren't true, too. :|

Good luck to those BBs who did make it to the second round of the audition! I hope you get a call-back (or however it works to proceed in the auditioning process).

What do you think your score was? The handful of people I talked to afterward who "passed" and were asked to stay estimated their scores roughly in the 40 to 46 range. Do you think you did better than that? If so, it's possible that they specifically removed the people who scored too high. If you think you scored in the 40 to 46 range, then maybe we were both axed for being too old. Without a clear explanation, all we can do is speculate. But when they come into the room with the graded stack of tests and read the names of those who "passed," and the names don't include all the highest scores, that's pretty disingenuous. I assume they have reasons for what they do and I respect that, but a little transparency would be nice.
