Observations Backlog 721 - Abeyance

This observation is quoted with our thanks to Etaoin22 from a post of September 27, 2009.

Although, if I recall correctly, in the eighties this tradition was held in abeyance after the disastrous budget speech of John Crosbie in 1979, the reaction to which unexpectedly toppled the government.
-- In Iroquois society, leaders are encouraged to remember seven generations in the past and consider seven generations in the future when making decisions that affect the people.
