I've watched most seasons of Survivor. I'm pretty sure we just saw more examples of how to play Survivor very, very badly in the past two hours than in all past seasons combined.

Silly me. I thought each tribe would play up to its label. Hello, sorting hat? You put some Slytherin in Gryffindor. I like a season with all new players, but have they ever watched the show previously?

What I did learn from tonight's episode:

It's on my TiVo as the CBS station here had a college basketball game on so they showed "Survivor" at 1:37 this morning.

Dang. I've been avoiding this show, lately, but from your descriptions, this episode sounds like it would have been entertaining.

It was entertaining, but only in that train wreck sense.
Spoiler
I still don't get why some of these players think they should have the right to "play their game," as if the show were designed around them. First few seasons, okay. But now? Sheesh.

I would have to say..
Spoiler
be careful what you wish for, Garrett. You were whining about wanting to play Survivor for the strategy game, not having to "survive, being hungry and working". Well honey, the ladies were very obliging to you, and were strategic.

The ousting of Dave first was another wonderful case of as you sow, so shall you reap. You don't announce to one and all of your tribe that you are looking to day 39 already, and deciding who is of use to you getting there

Maybe they both just wanted/needed the 5 week vacation at the Ponderosa.

The producers were working hard to make people fit in certain categories to make the "theme" this season work and after Garrett showed what an ass he was from the get go I figured that they wouldn't have a chance. But I didn't think they would be this bad.

Would think they have gotta put them somewhere for awhile so the rumor mill doesn't see them at home and tell the world who got voted off first. Not sure where that somewhere is.

This suggests that the early casualties don't mingle with the jury group but don't get to go home until near the end.

I'm enjoying this go-round more than I have the last several .. I don't think I watched more than 30 minutes or so of last season.

Survivor 3/19 -

There must be a whole lot more that goes on at tribal that we don't see. Either that or
Spoiler
LJ is either really stupid or really, really lucky (or both). From the looks of it he was pretty solid with Lindsey, and Trish was working hard to get Cliff out so she was on-board. But it really didn't appear that Tony was on with the plan at all. From where I was sitting, this was the time for LJ to play his idol. So he was either lucky or that was great editing.

I am sure it was editing, because although LJ is strong, Cliff was stronger, and Tony already wanted him out.
